In this project,

I was one of five operations strategists for creative partnership group Supervillain, helping swimwear brand Kovey reduce carbon emissions in their supply chain and manufacturing practices. I audited 54 sustainability commitments held by competing brands, and 20 candidate fabrics and 3 packaging suppliers for carbon cost. I also helped conduct interviews with 2 fabric manufacturers.

I proposed that Kovey uses EcoEnclose packaging material, made with post-consumer or FSC-certified paper. My team and I also landed on the compostable fabric CircStretch as Kovey’s new main textile, and the reuse of fabric scraps from prior production cycles to make new items, greatly reducing carbon emissions all around.

Other recommendations include the use of solar power, shipping instead of air freight, longevity-driven swimwear design, and the disclosure of sustainability metrics. All recommendations were delivered in a presentation to which I contributed visual direction.
